Ok I have got the cure for the surging idle prob on the any Civic motor. After spending a sh%^ load of money and wasting countless hours, I found the prob. It's the Fast Idle Valve. It's located on the bottom side of the t-body and has 2 small hoses running to it. I hade to take mine a part and found that the retaining nut, which is plastic, had come lose, I tightened it down reinstalled it and my car has never ran better. I checked around and it seems that a lot of people have had the same prob and fixed it the same way.

Good to know, seeing as how a lot of people are having this problem, can we make this a sticky. Also, post any other sure fire solutions that people have come across that had the same problem would be great also.

Is this the same thing as the IAC???? If so, how did you take yours apart without ruining it?

We fixed one of these at my dad's shop. The fast idle valve is on the bottom of the throttle body. I believe it has some vaccuum hoses going to it. We replaced it, but aparently you can just fix it. NO IT IS NOT THE IAC VALVE.
