Hey guys, want some opinions here on swaping a late model 4.3 auto to my 89 2 wheel drive Blazer.
Currently I have a 4.3 TBI w/auto but would like to put in a newer model 4.3. Mine has 189,000 miles on it and I don't want to buy a crate motor to put into.
What I was thinking of doing was finding a wreck and pulling the motor and tranny and dropping those into my blazer.
I can get a crate motor from GM for $2100.00 but I wouldn't have a new tranny.
So what do you think?
PS I don't want to do a V8 swap, I have a 79 SS Elcamino for tire burning, this 89 is my daily driver.
Thanks

I have a complete 4.3 FI Vortec out of a 98-99 with auto trans complete engine wiring except computer (has under 60,000miles) for 1300 you pickup or ship from OKC, OK. It sounds like a good idea. I am finishing up the V-8 swap now..lol.
