In Progress Evo VIII GSR

As I've come to a bit of a halt with the RX8 & R34 "Aeros" (waiting for some of the new Aoshima rims from HJL ! :mad: ) thought I'd make a start on this one. The Fujimi kit out of the box (except for the wheels - I'll make a final choice later). Colour is Tamiya candy lime green but still needs clearcoating. I'll probably go with the wing but didn't put it on for the pic as the paint was still drying.

The Evo looks great. Nice choice on the paint. I'm guessing that the red underglow is from the plastic that was molded from the factory, like some of your other cars?

Managed to clearcoat today - hope to polish it out next week when paints cured.EMAXX - underglow is just a trick of the light as you say.

thanx for the advisory, lol. but those rims do look good on there. maybe give them a little color accent-same color as the interior.?

Been busy with other things this weekend so not much progress on
anything except this one. Paint has been polished out, window trim
sprayed semi gloss black and head/taillights sprayed with Aclad chrome. I did attempt to add c/f decal to the hood but it's such a complicated shape that I couldn't cover it in one piece without tearing or getting folds in the decal :banghead: admitted defeat and sprayed it gloss black instead. Wheels aren't final - just the first set I had to hand to throw under it to take a picture.

Heres where I am at the moment - window trim has been sprayed up (a job I hate,especially when kit hasn't got window masks). I've tried to break up the green with some decals and the red Recaros - rest of the interior will just be semi-gloss back athough I might do the dash detail in candy green.

So I guess in Japan the Evo 8 doesn't have altezzas. That model is looking very awesome! I'm actually starting to like the color.
