2000 C/K 4X4 service light and malfunction

Hi all,

I have a 2000 Z71. Today I used the 4X4, no problem, later on I tried to use it again and it went into 4X4, when I shifted out, I noticed the LEDs on the switches weren't lit and it seemed to stop working.

It became apparent that the truck was in 2 wheel drive and wouldn't shift to 4X. After driving about 10-15 miles the 'service 4X4' light came on.

I've checked the fuse, is there anything else I can check before taking it to the dealer for diagnostics?

Is there another fuse that isn't shown in the owner's manual? I only one I could find was the one 15 amp in the dash fuse block and it is okay.

I didn't see any listed in the fuse center under the hood. Any help would be appreciated.

This is the electronic 4X4 with the Automatic 4X4 button and neutral position.

Condition
Some customers may comment on the Service 4WD indicator illuminating. Upon investigation, the technician may find DTC B2725 set.

Cause
The condition may be due to a intermittent fault in the transfer case shift control switch.

Correction

Replace the transfer case shift control switch using published Service Information procedures.



You can also contact Galvin Curtis of circiut solutions..he cruises these boards a good bit,,he has been repairing these switches.

Like I said, the lights in the dash switch itself are not illuminated, Is the activation switch you are pertaining to, the dash switch?

Where do I find the DTC 2725 or what is it??
