Good buy or not?

I need a simple yes or no answer
My friend has a 91 Civic Hatch back for sale. It needs brakes and a new clutch. Is this a good buy for $250? i trust the guy, i believe he has a clutch for it but im not sure, and he doesnt have new brakes for it so id be paying for that my self
again $250 USA, good buy or not? Im not into fixing it up, i just want some thing that gets better than my 89 S10, and it only gets about 10 miles to gallon.

i would definately take it, it will give you way over 10 lol and there are lots of opportunities available with it. fairly reliable car to once you get the new brakes, and clutch fitted in.
