i was wondering what i needed to do to my engine before getting nos kit so my engine will support it. right now it just has an intake? My car is a 1995 acura integra se with 72000 miles.

Before making a nice big mod like this have your engine tuned and timed. Check for leakages and stuff. Thats my personal opinion though...

To run a 55 shot of nitrous, you should be fine on your stock motor...no problems. To run say a 75 shot, youll need a tad bit larger injectors and possibly new pistons and a stronger clutch. when you get bigger than 75, you WILL NEED pistons, rods, fuel management, and a head build (valvesprings, valves, head gasket, and possibly even nitrous specific cams).

also whole aftermarket catback and header will help it.

so if i was to get a sneaky pete system i would be fine on my stock motor is that correct.

Just to warn you, the sneaky pete system is not going to be what you might think it is. It will only last maybe 2 1/4 mile runs with about a 35 shot. If you are serious avbout nitrous go with a wet setup. The LS will take 100 shots with a direct port wet kit, tuned properly, and used properly. I do not advise anybody to run 100 shot, but I have seen it done on stock block LS's alot here.

Now what you need to do to prepare for the nitrous, 1) read this http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=165711 post #4
2) post back with anything that is not answered by that post.

im not really lookin for alot of nos just a little extra so do you think the sneaky pete setup would be good for that. i heard a dry kit was better for my car then wet.

Sneeky pete is only good for about 1 run and you have to fill it up. to use a sneeky pete system you really need a filling station because you will be filling it alot. I have a 10lb nitrous bottle and 4an line (Run from trunk to engine) I also have a nitrous nozzle and fuel soliniod. you just need to get a small piece of 3an hose and a nitrous soliniod. it is the older style tank but still works good, just pulled it out of my fiero. I'll sell it for $150 ob plus shipping (Nitrous tank, line, bottle brackets, nozzle, fuel soiliniod) this way it will cost you about as much as a sneeky pete system but you will be able to hit the button more then once. PM or e-mail me if your interested. the bottle can be seen in the trunk of my fiero on page 6 of my cardomain site.

Before using nitrous I would get Iridium spark plugs, make sure your timming is at stock position - do not advance it at all. I would get some sort of adjustable fuel pressure regulator. and that should be the basic upgrades you will need.

Isnt there a way to build your own nitrous setup? like building your own turbo setup? i mean the edelbrock catalog has all the equipment needed to, with different nozzle sizes and stuff. It would be cheaper than to buy a premade setup.

That is exactly what my kit is, except it is NOS brand parts :icon16: But when you add it up you really won't come out better unless you can find some of the parts used ie: the bottle, brackets, and hoses. The rest you can buy fairly cheap the biggest cost will be the solenoids.

BTW lil_mac did you read that link I gave you?
