I found all the brands I could think of and took their top bikes for this poll. Heres the question. Which of these is the best bike that combines both power and handling? If you have a different bike you like better click other and say which one in your post.

how would u miss out the R1 and the Gixxer 1000?
or at least the Honda 954RR.
but if I have to vote, the Ducati got the cast. :)

Well the honda 954 wasnt on the honda site and I did put the R1 on I just left the 1 off by mistake but its their. As far as the Gixxer 1000 I saw it but I just asumed the Hayabusa was suzuki's top bike.

what exactly are you talking about? straight line speed? then I would say the zx12r. What about pure cornering? I would say any of the 250cc replicas. All around track ability? gsxr750. looks? r1 :)

Oh, man do i NOT like ducatis. My vote is the yamaha r1, but in reality the winner in my mind is suzuki gsx 1000r.

1999 hayabusa would smoke them all in a straight run... hayabusa is still fast they just keep restricting it more and more, 2004 is disappointing... but without the restriction theres just no competition for it... 1300cc will always have more potential than 1000. kawasaki has the shittiest gearboxes. i donno about looks... but then again (most) people dont get bikes to look pretty on them

just had a track day at easterncreek sydney with honda australia. cbr954's everywhere as well as cbrr600's. honda let us test ride new bikes like cbr1100xx, sp2, vtr100, as well as the new 600's but no new cbrr1000.
had a drag onto and down the straight with a cbr1100xx (i'm on a 954) and surprisingly beat him to the first corner. top speed of 248k's(155mph)in 4th gear. best bike on the day was cbrr600 riden by a marshall for honda. rest of us on 954's were doing pretty wel against 998, gsxr750's and r1's. unfortunately the only gsxr100 was riden by a guy who took it easy on the day. my vote goes to the 954 but i'm biased.

i think straights...definately the busa but who is really goin to need that much power. Its better to sacriice the speed advantage for a lighter more nimble bike. unless you are planning to go 200mph wich is just :screwy: on a public road.

The 'busa would win in a race but I think the BMWs are the most fun to ride. BMW is releasing a "'Busa Beater" soon.

even out of the kawi, honda, and yamis new 1k, the gixxer 1000 beat them all around infeon raceway by almost a second, the kawasaki was 2nd.
and you didnt really take the top bike, juts the biggest one.
Id take thre ZX10 befoire the ZX12, and id take the gixxer 1000 before the hayabusa 1300, and the br 1000RR before that 1100Xx blackbird thing.
I dont like buells at all, and bmws not much either.
my vote is for the new R1 though, looks SO sick.

he didn't take the biggest one from Kawi, he said ZX-10, not ZX-12.
However, ZX-10 is actually behind in sales compared to the other 3 liter bikes.

yeah, I wanna get the ZX10 instead of thew new R1 now, cuz the ZX10 is supposed to have WAY WAY more mid range than the R1, which was the weakest of the 4 in that section. and it looks sweet. I was just referrign to the poll though, sorry.

Midrange power or not, in actuality according to Sportrider Magazine, ZX-10R was first by one less hundredth of a second, so R1 took the second spot in 1/4 mile test.
I'd go with a v-twin for mid-range power.

well, I like the smoother, rev happy inline 4's more. to tell you the truth though, my old 2001 R1 had more than enough mid range I thought, I mean it pulled insanely no matter what RPM's you were at, and if yopu were going highway speeds in 6th and just floored it it still pulled pretty damn hard, so Im sure the new R1 would be more than planty. I read in a sport bike maybe that the R1s power started out kinda tame, and then kept climbing and then pulled hard uptop, like a R6 on steroids more or less when compared ot the other 1 liters overall powercurves, and I can relate to that from riding my R1. but you know how it is, most men want to have the biggest baddest out of the bunch. lookswise I cant figure which one I like more, I like the clean look of the center up on the yamaha, but the ZX has somoe nice lines as well. I just cant decide, luckily I wont be able to afford a new liter-class anytime soon anyways. Im going for a early 90's 250 2 stroke as my next 2 wheled toy.
alsop in that mage it was wheere they tested them in 5 categorieds i think, power the kawi too it, engineering I think was the honda maybe(if that was what the category was called even) on the track the gixxer had em all beat by about 1 second and beat honda by about 1.6 seconds I think. of course on shootouts they never pick a winner, its always "thers no winner, they are all so great that we cant choose, depends on your needs and riding style" or something. I guess thats good news since you cant really make a bad choice on which biike to get.

If twisities is your thing more than straightline, you can't go wrong with a v-twin. heh. Personally, once I finish a few years of riding in 600, I'd probably get a Aprilia Mille R (unless they release a 750 here first). It's different. Not as unreliable as Duc, but not as common as Japanese bikes. I hear the maintenance cost are about same as R6/R1. Plus plenty of low-range and mid-range power that you can actually use for around town and the track (if I ever visit, hehe).
But honestly, this is all redundant :D, we know most bikes already have way too much power for us to ever tame.

Im sure Id be hapey with a 600 even. and I never really hit alot of twisty roads on my r1 cuz around here you cant, I did a few times and everytime I would come around a corner to find like 1.5-2 inch diameter branch chunks like a foot long all over the corner, then another corner that doesnt get sun at all and has trees above it is kinda mossy and has pine needles all over it, some have gravel that gets kicked onto the road at the corners, there isnt a good road to ride bikes on this whole island. I still found some good corners to practie a bit, never got leaned over real far but Im pretty gutsy(maybe a bit dumb when it comes to this kinda thing as well) so I was pushing my bike further than people who have had theirs for ever.
I do ilke the apprilla mille ville r or whatever, havent really thought about getting an apprilla, dont even know how to spell it or say itcorrectly, like some ducatis, but I will probably get a japanese sport bike when I get one, I like the ZX6RR also but I kinda wanna get a liter bike since id want one eventually and then id just be losing money when I sold the 600

Those bikes are so close performance wise. If they actually switched bikes for that small of a gain than they are just another one of those "I need the biggest baddest bike" guys. Liter bikes pull hard in most of the rpm range. 1000cc V-Twins will just keep pulling harder until peak. I just dont like V-Twins because of the maintenence and the fact that the motors will never run as strong and as long as an I-4.

gotta agree with civic.
all reports i've read indicate that the zx10 is a bitch of a bike to keep at the limit compared to the others.

For some reason, I dont think the R1 is that great looking. Personally, my dream garrage would have the Gizxxer 1000 and a Bussy, and I would alternate which one I drove on a weakly basis. The only thing I dont like is the exahust pipe on the '05 1000. But that can always be changed. And personally, I find the Haybusa very sexy.
However, Yamaha does have the best looking symbol of them all...

The busa can move, and it can rail twisties (with the right rider, of course)... but I HATE that jockstrap headlight! I hate when I have to ride on the back of my b/f's busa b/c I think it's a weird looking bike.
