Help - Oil light/preasure 1997 GXTD

Help please.
Bought a second hand GX/TD fully serviced by Nissan UK 100,000miles on the clock. Excellent cond.
After a week of smooth running, I changed the oil to a 10w 40 semi synth Penzoil. (I think Niss UK used 15w40 Castrol).
A few drives later.. on cold starts oil preasure light stays on for 4-5 seconds and there is a squelching sound which goes away after the engine reaches temp.
Within 2 weeks I have spin on 3 new filters (2 nissan filters + generic) and changed the oil twice (10w40 Helix the second time) with still the same problem. I did notice that after the 3rd filter went on, the fist cold startup the next day was quick- then it went back to 4 secs.
Does anyone have any ideas?
i was thinking that by using a semi synth it has dislodged some sluge and it has blocked a oil gallery or something - but don't know how to test!

Hi early!
I have som simular problems on my 98 Primera GT, it has too fuly servic records from Nissan. I dont get the oil lamp on, but i get a squelching sound on cold starts. Acording to my local Nissan dealer it's possible that some oil canals can get yamed and the engien needs a inside clean up. Talk to a Nissan service place and ask them how it should be caried out. Good luck whit your car and pleas tell how it goes.
