What Next?

Hey guys, I was just wondering what you guys think I should do? I have a 95 GSR, with i/e/h. I'm happy with the car, but I always find myself wondering what it would be like with a S/C or turbo kit. I make about $500 a month. I use my lunch money for gas, (saves me a good 60 bucks a month ;)). My insurence is about 80 a month, my guitar payment is 50 a month, and my car payment is about 150 a month. The other 200 goes into the bank. I was just wondering with this budget what you guys think I should do? I'm a senior in high school, so time is on my side. I bought my car for 6,400 and have paid about 200. So i'll be making payments for a while. My car already looks nice, so I don't want a bodykit or anything. I just want good cost effiecient performance. Just wondering what you all think i should do. thx

NOS!!!! A nice nitrous kit would be easy, cheap and lots more power to play with. IF you are looking for street legal options maybe you should keep saving that money for a Hondata set up or some ITR cams. In the way of bolt-ons it seems you already have exactly what you need (Intake/Exhaust/Headers). You could maybe start looking into Ignition upgrades but I would wait and go with Hondata or a dyno/ECU tune first. Your want for forced induction is common, but I advocate N/A on the good old Vtec. There are some nice turbo kits out there for the GSR though and with the way you are making money you could start building a nice kit yourself. This will take a while in your case but if this is what you want.... once you get it it all together it will feel like no time at all. The turbo will take some patience though....

I have to say that FI is something you don't want to do on a tught budget. There are too many chances for something to break or tear up etc. You really need to have money to fall back on if something bad happens. Especially with the nitrous, if you are not really careful it can bit you right in the ass, just ask civicrunner. If you do go the nitrous route please read as much about nitrous as you can and learn as much as possible, this will help you prevent mistakes that can cause serious problems.

Well If I go turbo, looks like i'll be waiting a while lol. again my car has 99k miles, when do you think i should think more about my rebuild? i most likely won't boost till after my rebuild. I think I'll leave it the way it is, as i'm beating gt mustangs, so it's working for me. I don't desperately need big numbers yet, so I think i'll wait and save up money. You know what I mean. :smokin: You were there too in that big GT vs S2000 battle. All he has is I/H/E, not that thats bad, but you're running 14.4s, I dont think he's gonna quite hit that with what hes got. That's where FI comes in.

I don't know what year the Stang was, but it had dealer plates, and the hood scoop, so it must have been pretty new. With my kind of budget ($250 a month after expenses) and my engine miles (99k) what do you guys think I should do next?

Man I would just save some money and get some cams and hondata, tune it and it will be reliable and the maintance will not have to be done as often as if you go FI. But that is just my opinon.

I hear that a lot of people have gotten new cams... Whats the benifets of this? What do the aftermarket cams actually do? Also, is hondata some kind of tuner? If so, do you use it to dyno tune, or just to change some of the comp. settings. what are the prices on cams and hondata? Thx

Here is the site for hondata http://www.hondata.com/ and it is a piggy back for the computer, so that you can change the fuel and ignition maps. The cam will prove more lift on the valve (it will open more) and longer duration (it will stay open longer) to help the motor flow better, which will increase hp.

I would get the s200 it is only $50 more I think and it has alot more options, but the s100 will work.

The s200 hundred is definitely the way to go dont waste your hard earned cash on the s100. Cams would benefit you greatly and if an engine rebuild is already in your mind then go N/A. It is the best kind of power in my opinion. There is nothing better than running with or even beating GT's, Z28's, S2000's and Turbo'd Imports and coming out of it saying it was all engine. It will also be better power if you ever plan on Auto Xing. If Auto Xing is an interest then I would say put some money into your suspension.. White GSR just got H&R springs, KYB AGX shocks and an Ingal's camber kit and is very satisfied. Hopefully he posts something about it. If you like the exterior look of your car stock a drop will make you fall even more in love with the integra's lines.
