lots of problems

I would appreciate any help I can get. I am a complete novice at this stuff.
We bought this truck new and I bought it off my dad. I have a 98 F150 triton v8, 2wd, with 93500 miles, ext. cab, short bed, two tone red and grey, It has been wrecked twice, first time my brother stole it and ran it across the side of a telephone pole on the drivers side. Had to replace fender and take breather off until another one was put on. No problems with running, the drivers side door when opened the lights would stay on and go off after a minute or two. It also made my back window leak when faced toward the rain lightly, not a major problem. The second I hydroplained and hit a gaurd rail. Tore up bumber but that is it.
Problems:
To start, my door ajar is on and off at times. This makes the lights come on at random even when the truck is not touched they come on. ex. I get out of my truck open the door with no lights. I get in and 30 min later they are on with nobody touching it. They also have flickered on and off in a matter of 10 sec. I think it is a sensor but not for sure.
Another, I need two rims for it. They are 5 lug and decorated with 3 small holes and 3 large holes. Also need a drivers side door and possibly bed. Also would be willing to buy a junked truck.
another, it does not like to start when it is cold. I have to play with the gas pedal, pushing it up and down to get it to start. I think it is something to do with the idler.
Another, when i floor it to pass somebody, in fourth gear my lights dim but are fine in 3rd and once I hit fifth. The interior and outside lights dim.
After all this is fixed I would like to know how to put a Y exahust on it from the cady converter up (dont know how to weld) and put a horse power chip and a chip that makes it not shut off at 95 (really anoying can keep up with a mustang GT until it shuts off). I only push it hard rarely but when I have I really have. I usually do once a month.
I would also like to know why my brakes sqeal when braking from around 30 and lower with new brakes and rotars. I would like to know how to fix this.
Another, is it okay to unhook the battery in this new of a truck. I have been told that I can not without messing up the computer. Please let me know if this is true.
Finally, my trucks passenger side window is already slow and has been for about 3 years. It aint horrible, but is slower than what it should be. My locks also need to be WD40ed in order to work in the winter. I would like to know how to fix these problems.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I will understand if i can only get help from certain things from certain people because of the range of topics, if you need more info let me know and will be glad to aid in anyway possible so you can help me.

My dad WD40ed something and now the lights for the doors are working again but I know this is a short term fix. I would like a permanent fix, but would also like to know how to disconnect the lights from the doors, so that way I dont have to worry about the lights going on and off all night. Please give me any help.

try adjusting the stricker on the door post in just a little so the door shuts tighter for you.

also try spraying some carb or brake cleaner in the latch on the door they tend to gum up and stick. your brakes may just be dust in the rear drums
also check the front pads for wear.
also check the wire harness going into the door.
if it got hit on that side the fender could of came and hit the harness damaging wires

The front brakes are near new and the back, I took off and my dad did not notice anything and neither did I that would cause it to squeal. I do not remember seeing any dust on the back brakes. I try some of the other stuff in a few days. JOEROC, I dont think I see a stricker. Would you please explain what that looks like for me. Before the here recently flikering of my door lights, the door lights would usually take 1 to 2 min. to shut off just when using the drivers side door. But I hit this huge pot hole the other day and that night was when the lights starting doing what they are doing.

The door ajar light could be tht the switch is misaligned, I had a brand new 98 ranger with same sit. I put a thumb tack into the end of the rod that comes out of the swithch. This fixed the problem and nobody could really tell it was there. but the way, the dealer couldn't repair mine.

I hope the no start problem is easier than I think, I don't know if your truck has a mass air flow sensor on it but if it does and it's the culprit, you've got a pretty expensive problem, hopefully you have a Idle Air Control valve stuck. Sounds like it's stuck or bad altogether, have it checked.

The break squeal could be from improper installation of the pads (I didn't catch wether it was the front or back brakes making the noise. If it's the front, put anti-squeal material on the outer sides of the pads(where they contact the caliper), and re-install them having someone hold the brakes on and take a light weight hammer 5 or 6 oz. and tap the ears that hold the pads on the caliper until they don't wiggle. a carpenters hammer is really too heavy, all you want to do is move metal not crush it.

the problem you will have unhooking your battery is that it's probably
going to be hard to start, then it will run rough for a little while until the computer re-learns the engine.

Hope this helps some

thanks i will try that stuff. It is hard to tell which side the brakes are squealling from. Both brakes are fine. The back show no sign of needing changed (drumb brake), and the front are disc and about 3/4 left. Ever since the wd40 i have had no problems with my door lights. My truck always starts, i just have to tap the gas pedal when it is cold, and the colder the more times i have to push it. I plan on changing batteries with a friend of mine for a day, and see if that helps anything. He has one that is way more powerful than what he needs for an old chevy pickup. I hope that will keep my lights on when i am passing and am in 4th gear. I also hope it helps it start easier. I think my alternator is charging high though. Thanks for your help.
