I've been wanting to know if you can fit an H22 in a Crx. I have a friend who says that it can be done but there is no type of room for anything. I just wanted to know if its possible.

It's possible. Just alot of money involved. You will need custom mounts, upgrade your supspension and some other stuff I can't think of. Anyways, let us know if you get it in.

ive seen pictures of it done....looks to me like you would barely have room to fit a turbo on it....

Yep no room for a turbo, depending on the size its hard to get a turbo in a b-series depending on the mounts.

I think you could probably fit a turbo but there would have to be alot of custom work under the hood, and plus I heard H22's dont hold up well to turbos because their bottom isnt built to withstand the boost. Build up the bottom end alot if you plan on a turbo.

Don't bother going through all the stress, theirs no fun doing this swap and not being able to go on the streets with it(safely) and messing with brand new cars, it would be track car really, but i guess whatever floats your boat

a guy who used to post here a lot under the name frostee had an h22 in a hatch and he drove it on the street....said it had lots of understeer but it was definately streetable......from pics i saw it was packed in the engine bay so tightly that there is no chance of turbo or AC being put on the engine

Does any one know what the best year for a h22 is?

H22's are mainly only used IF going for turbo. They rev too slow to really use unless doing a HUGE N/A build up as opposed to a B18C etc.

An h22 in a crx is still going to be sick fast, bone stock. And I think the h22 can hold boost rather well. I believe the h series are closed deck, which is much better for turbo. Im sure it could hold 7-9 psi with stock internals.
I think if you want to go for something turbo with a good bit of displacement, get a b20 and turbo that. It will swap in much either than an h22 ever will. You'd probably have an easier time swapping an h22 into a EH chassis. A buddy of mine is doing that right now actually.

Yes you definately want to go this route instead! My cousin has a REX with a H22 swap, and like Hybrid said it is really fast but here is the funny part the B20/Vtec that I have whoops on him!!! at first he use to take me but after a few mods, HEHEHEHE see ya SUKKA !!!
He has wasted more money than I have, alot more $$$$ than me. The parts the Prelude motor are just to expensive bro, go the B20 or B18 route it will be cheaper, not to mention the aftermarket parts are a little cheaper.

A friend of mine put an H22 in his street driven rex..
Its crazy, but if you're not really good with doing the work yourself, its not cost effective.

if you do it don't plan on taking turns fast. a guy i know has one in his 92 and the way it sits the cv's are angled backwards so he can't turn fast. that is just what i have heard. but do it, it would be hella fast.

H22 is just not the best option out there.

you guys have hybrid motors all hyped up, b20/vtec ls/vtec is great if the right person and the right parts are used, if you just simply throw on a b16 head on a b20 your not gonna make much hp at all ive heard of modded b20/vtec motors putting down like 150 at the wheels....can someone say waste of money?
