Well, I dont have my own car, as Brian knows, insurance is hella pricey here and I cant afford it. I roll around in my dads car, a BMW, and if your Z32 is a non-turbo, Im sure my car can take yours. But enough e-thugging.
Lets see pcis of your car.

Just because the steering wheel is on the left or right side doesn't mean the car is american or japanese. I've seen left hand drive cars in Japan and cars with right hand drive conversions here in the US. I've seen imported cars here with left hand conversions. The only thing it changes it what side you drive on. Under your logic you could turn an american car into a japanese car by simply buying a front clip and doing the conversion. This is not the case. It doesn't matter what country a japanese car is sold in, it's still a japanese car.

I know you can import cars or convert them you idiots, I'm talking about stock stupid, I could freaking convert the steering wheel to the middle or even the back seat if I had the money, shut up already

oh and 1via your an idiot, you really think they make the cars in japan and ship them here? the have factories in AMERICA so why would they spend the money to boat a ton a cars from Japan? Nissan has a freaking factory in England thats been there for over 20 years, car companies have factories all over, they don't ship the cars from Japan or wherever the car originated

:uhoh: So my MR-2 is american? And here I was thinking it wasn't a domestic.
Soyo

its not American based but its made in America unless you imported it, very few cars are imported by the factory, some companies only make certain cars in certain places, but not very often
so its not exactly a domestic but its not Japanese either, just trying to tell gay mr 1via that hes an idiot :)

...in case you have not noticed... I was being mildly sarcastic... Jesus... I bet I'm talking to a bunch of kids here that don't even own cars! Have any of you actually even attempted a drift??? F'in' posers... I'm through arguing about this crappy GTO... I'm through with this thread...
You are right... everyone here is prolly under 18... hahahaha, most dont even have their drivers license... but they are EXPERTS.

I'm 19, an amateur drifter/former professional short track driver (who's right now attempting to get a seat with a WSoA team for the 2004 or 2005 season) and I own a moderately tuned 1970 MGB GT, which I drift easily.
She's a bit ragged out, and in desperate need of new metal in her unibody as most 30+ year old British cars here in the Midwest's rust belt do, but is as strong a drifter as my teammate's 240SX.
I'll settle this once you've answered my question. Name one technical reason why Camaros, Mustangs, and GTO's cannot drift.

I'm 17 with a license and an rx-7 which drifts pretty well for being stock except for the clutch, I'm no 'expert' I guess but I know my fair share about cars and drifting and 'japanese' cars as well as a bit about 'domestics' not that they are much different besides the engine size and the rotary engine in the rx-7, they all have 4 tires, steering wheel, yea thats abotu all I know :) stop being a woman and acting like just cuz your not 18 means you don't know anything, but if you don't have a license, that could someone discredit you, so I will agree with that part of it atleast

I hate liars.... damn kids... I bet you pee your pants just watching people drift... sad, sad, sad :disappoin
As for the domestics, Layla... I guess I don't really have any technical reason why they would suck... just my experience driving them I guess. But as I said... let's see how the GTO gets around. :iceslolan
As for my car not beng Japanese... I guess what I mean is that all the parts are made in Japan and the final assembly point... I dunno... I would have to look into that. Maybe I'm half right???

yeah.... I've been trying to figure out how to post pix! I got a digital camera and I can not even show my pix! I don't even know how to get those cool Avatars... I'm hopeless when it comes to computers... will, someone show me how to post pix??? :banghead:
Bimmer vs. Z32? Sounds like a BMI video! :naughty: Only on the touge though! And no drifting! I just bought some strut bars for my beast and wanna see how it feels on those curves!
I think I am gonna get a 510 though (or another 240sx)... so I can drift! Plans: 510 w/SR20DET and tons of suspension mods!

first off 1via, you do know you can use more than one quote in a post so you don't have to post 3 times in a row right? and no your all wrong, they are made here, shipping all those car parts would be gobs of money that no car company is dumb enough to pay

I guess that means they were made in the US, huh? You're so smart, guy! I wish I can be 17 again and pretend I have an RX-7 and say that I drift... sigh, those were the days...... you realy think your smart, dont'cha, son?

Soyo, 1via is actually right. The cars are made in japan, BUT they are made to US, not Japan sepcs.
Turbos are different sizes, ECUs tuned differently, different structural bracing, steering wheel on the other side etc. So it may be built in Japan, but its USDM.
1via, you can upload the pictures when you make a post.

oh yea and I'm pretending to have an rx-7 and pretending that I drift a little, if I was pretending why would I 'pretend' my clutch went out an the car sat in the garage for 3.5 weeks waiting for the new clutch to come in, then waiting for the snow to go away, then eventually having to pay someone to put it in cuz I had no where to work on it. and why would I say I'm a beginner at drifting and haven't done a ton of it if I was pretending? and why would I not just start off saying I had a TII with exhaust, rebuilt engine, new ECU, new wheels and tires, LSD, Teins or anything else? who pretends to have a stock/near stock car and pretneds they are a beginer at drifting? no one pretends to be mediocre(sp?) and if everythign I said was pretend why would I pretend my cousin blew the engine in his 240sx and got a new KA24DE instead of sayign he got an SR? honestly your assumptions make absolutely no sense at all, just because you can't accept that pontiac can make a car that can drift with nissan, maxda, toyota, any other car company doesn't me the car sucks or will suck, you probably don't know any of the specs on the car and none of us have ever seen it in action so you obviously don't know so why don't you stop being a little bitch and stop arguing about a car you've never seen drift and have never tried to drift. oh well if I'm 17 and your like what 23 I think? your point? age mean nothing in car knowledge, I've reasearched and spent time around cars since I was 14 and as soon as I bought my own car when I was 15(1990 plymouth laser piece of crap 1.8 litre) got into cars even more, and then when I was 16 and got my rx-7 I researched even more and spent more time with cars, I work on my car, my families cars, my friends cars, I even go wtch people work on their cars just so I can get a better understanding of how each car works and is put together, now you can call BS on me all you want, but I don't really care and have nothing to prove to you.

as you'll notice I DID NOT change my tune, I said from the beginning that its Japanese based but still sort of domestic(couldn't think of 'usdm spec' at the time)
I don't know for sure if I'm going or not, me and my cousin were planning on it, but now hes getting married in april, so we'll have to see if wedding planning gets in the way... hopefully I'll be there though
anyways I think this thread is done with, someone can open up another one on feb. 29th and we can all argue about it again :)
