Hi there!
I have to replace my fog light bulb and can't figure out if there is an easy way to do it or if i have do drop the front bumper cover to get at it! It is a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT fully loaded.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Phil.

880 light bulb it takes, crawl under the front of vehicle and which ever side thats burnt out you can twist the light out. lefty lossy, righty tighty remember. they might be a pain but they should just be able to twist out. Or if you replacing the whole fog light theres 3 screws that hold the mounding bracket up.

You know, I couldn't figure this out on my 99 GT either. Seemed as if there was some cover under the car. On my 2002 GTP however, it was easy. I was able to reach right under the fender and get to the screws. Just fyi...there might be something covering your access to the screws on your 99. get the car up on ramps or at least jack up a side to get a better look.

You know what? Mine has that covering underneath....which leads me back to my question of do I now need to detach the front bumper to get at these stupid fog lights?
I can't seem to find any nook and cranny to get my hand into to get the little sucker out.........makes me wonder if it is supposed to be this hard to replace such a commonly replaced item????

I was not adventurous, so I took it to the dealer. I too could not figure it out.
I'm sure someone here has run across this.

I cant believe you took it to a dealer for a foglight.
Drive the car up on some ramps or jack the front end up and get dirty. This is so easy should take 10 minutes once the car is up in the air.

Just to clarify......I didn't take it to the dealer.....yet......rpn.....It looks like you have to remove the bumper skirt to access the fogs....it has a black plastic covering that covers the entire area behind the fogs and the fender wells......that is why I am having difficulty.....there are no screws to remove other than the ones holding all the plastic covering and the bumper skirt....

There is no cover blocking access to the rear of the fogs. Like I said jack up the car, crawl under there and you'll see.
You do not need to remove the bumber skirt, or the fenderwell lining.
I can go outside right now, crawl under the car and take pictures if need be.
I've had to replace my bulbs in the BLazertechs and simply drove up onto a curb to gain access to the back of the fogs

Rip: I understand what you are saying. Yes, on my 2002 GTP, it was a 10 minute job. very easy. but honestly, on my 99, there was no way to get to the fog lights.

That is funny on my 98 I did install them on 10 mins or less. Ripn12s is correct, double check on that. BUt instead of twisting the bulb and socket I took out the 2 screws holding it to the bumper and once out was a breeze to replace. But to tell you the truth was not that hard to get to the screws. Mine are OEM fog ligts and is a 98 GTP. It couldn't be that different for a 99GT. IF you can please take the pics, it is puzzling

Just got off AIM w/ a buddy who drives a 99 GTP. Says he had no problems w/ removing fogs. Same process that I used for my 98.

The foglights on my 1999 GTP were very easy to change. You reach under the bumper to get a hold of the foglight housing. Then, twist the bulb housing, NOT the adjustment knob, to release the bulb.
You do not have to remove anything to get to the housing to remove the bulb
