diff question

im about to begin a 4 wheel disk conversion on my 94 camaro. i was wonderin if the differentials were different for the z28s from the 3.4s or if the diff was the same, just with different gears. the reason i ask is cause im about to pick up a pair of axle shafts that are off a 94 z28 with the 4 wheel disk and im wonderin if they would match right up or not...

it would mount right up but why waste your time and money on a 3.4 craparo

cuz he already has it, thanx for being understanding.

but yeah the differentials are the same, just a different ratio. might be worth while to get the diff from the Z28 if it has better gears.

89, can you find out if the front rotors of a 4th gen Z28 will work on my 91 RS

are you swapping calipers as well??? or just rotors?? id have to measure them for that one. off the top of my head id have to say, if they are different sizes, no they wont fit, if they are the same size, then yeah they will ;) bolt arrangement is the same, so the only thing to worry about is diameter and thickness.

i can switch calipers too, i just wanna make those wheels fit, and if it's the bolt pattern that's the problem, then putting 4th gen rotors and rear end on my car should solve it.

um, the bolt pattern should be the same, the only difference i can think of is backspacing. i would talk to a NTB shop about it, they are licenced ARW distributor, and know about wheels, or you can try getting in contact with ARW themselves at the website. im not exactly up to speed on this topic, so i dont want to give any advice to steer you in the wrong direction.

well those wheels i wanna get, the black vette ones, i emailed the ppl who are selling em on ebay and asked if they'll fit my camaro, and the said no. so i figured it was because of the bolt pattern, cuz if it was the backspace you can just get a spacer to compensate for that. so, i don't know

email again, bring up the bolt pattern and backspacing, find out what they ment by wont fit. chances are they dont know, they bought them for a 95 or whatever, and when you say 89, they say no, cuz they think its different.

but why would they wanna lose a customer over a spacer?

tell ya what, find out exactly what your bolt pattern is on your RS, or IROC, then check one of those Vettes you're workin on at the job, then get back to me, if they match, then i need a spacer and i'll be happy with just that instead of replacing all that other crap.
