I have a stock 1989 honda civic hatchback and was wondering what the biggest tire sizes and wheel sizes I can use?

18s are about as big as you can go before some custom work is req'd..

and honestly..if you dont have a kit.. anything above 16s look too big...but with a kit.. 17s.. and maybe 18s will be ok ;)

just had to throw my opinion in ;)

well like they said the biggest you can go before modifing the wheel well would be 18's, but 16" seem to be the best of looks, and performance minded drivers.

here is a very old pic of my car with 16's

50 series on 15s is perfect IMO :)

195/50 is the best size for 15's imo.....they are almost exactly the same outside diameter as stock wheels and tires and handle better than 205/50

i thought with 18s you get lots of rubbing on hard wheel turns. even some people with high pro 17s get them don't they? um 17 is biggest you can go but really 15s or 16s will be best.

I have 17's lowered about 1.5" and no rubbing at all. I have 205/40 tires also. I was thinking about only getting 16's but my grandparents bought them for me so I figure I'd get 17's.

17's with 205/40/17's fit perfect. However there arnt to good if you plan on track driving.
