honestly to tell you the truth...going from auto to 5 speed...NO!!!!!!!
if you have an auto now sell it a nd just by a 5 speed...why beacuse after you do that mod to it...youll wasted a lot of time and tons and tons of money...yet at the same time have an even weaker celica...do think about it.....i have a integra ls motor but its auto...droped it into my crx thats a 5 speed...god what a waste of time...why...because the motor was set up for auto...so think about it before you do it...

uhhhh..... 5Speeds will ALWAYS give ytou more wheel horsepower. In fact about 20 more HP to the wheels, better gas milage and more control. My dad swapped his 87 celica to a 5spd and it was pretty easy and it works fine. I cant speak for the 90 but I know the 87 fit right up with ONE mount difference. The engine on a 5spd and auto is exacly the same. The 5spd tranny just gives you more HP.

yeah thats also true...most cars are made 5 speed...but the clutch and the other goodies are covered up...like i said before...just get a manual...its easier that way and with a 5speed...you have total control of the speed....as far as acceleration and brakind distances like down shifting to slow down
