Fixed paddles or with steering wheel motion?

Hi!
I just want to find out what others out there prefer.
I know the Gallardo has fixed paddles. Is this a preferrable setup for shifting on semi-auto trans? I believe the BMW M3 SMG II is on the steering wheel and moves with the circular motion.

I have no first hand experience, but at least for track purposes I would say that wheel pounted would be prefereable. That way you can shift up immediately out of the turn while still holding a good line (it could be done with fixed paddles, it just doesn't seem as though it would be as convenient).
