CD Changer Problems

I just got a car for Christmas, a '00 Mazda 626 (My 92 Camaro bit the dust, i miss it so bad...) Well my parents don't really care about the stereo or anything like that, but they know i like to atleast listen to CD's in the car. The car has the stock radio/cd player and tape deck. The woman who sold the car to my parents also put a 12-disk cd changer in the trunk. Theres a little controller next to the drivers seat where you can turn it on and change disks/tracks/etc. The cd's seem to be playing, but i just don't know how to make the sound come out of the speakers. All i can hear is the radio, and while there isnt a cd in the dash cd player, you cannot go to the cd options. I read somewhere that if you have a changer hooked up you hold down 1/disk and it will switch to the changer. I tried this but it doesnt work either. My boyfriend and I have pushed every button on there and tried absolutely everything. I don't know what else to try. I really want to use the changer..and i can't imagine the lady bought a changer and had it in her car if she couldn't even play it. Does anyone know how to make the sound come out of the speakers? My mom lost the woman's phone number, so i can't ask her how she played her cd's. Please help!

it might be fm modulated so when you power one the changer and its playing press seek on the radio and if it is fm mod'd then the freq. it should be picked up at should be anywhere from 87.7 to 89.9.

I agree it proudly plays thru a radio station so start playing a cd then seek thru the fm stations till you find it. their may be more than one station so find the one that works best
