What up crew... I just got back from the muffler shop where I had my OBX twin muffler, 24" glass pack and 2 1/4" piping from the cat back installed.
Sound sweet at idle and low RMP But anything above 4000 RPM's it't too loud...
Any suggestions on how I may be able to silence up a little?
Here is what the muffler looks like...

I've found that a set of ear plugs works great! Oh yeah, you can also turn up the radio!:D

sup man,
I installed an obx tunable muffler as well. I've got the silencer on but opened up all the way. It sounds really really clean, even above 4k rpm. I don't take it over 4 that often though so It doesn't really bother me.
Anyways, My friend has installed 2.25 inch piping as well and what I noticed when in his car is that the muffler makes this really annoying sound after 3k rpm (it is taken to the max with the bigger piping) he didn't have a silencer on though.
The only thing I can suggest is to get a silencer (from the pic there is none in either one) and adjust it to your liking, it is real easy to adjust.
peace

How much does all this cost you?

The OBX was $97 on ebay... The piping was other $120 installed...including the glass pack.

the other option would be to buy a different muffler, it's a more expensive route, but you could find a larger "can" that would quiet the exhaust, yet still allow a free flow. Something large like a dunk, or the large greddy muffler comes to mind.

The glass pack works like a silincer... Piping alone was $65, the glass pack was another $45 installed...
With anyluck I'll find a shop that carries the silincers for this muffler. I hope I find it fast... I almost lost my hearing on the way to work this morning....:D :D :bloated: :bloated:

Well, it only took one day of driving to work with the twin OBX muffler to to say the hell with it.... It was just to loud.
When I got out of work I went straight to the muffler shop... They first suggested using a 48" glass pack. (Currently a 24") But the Glass pack was to long and didn't fit.
The Guy at shop also stated that it wouldn't help much becuase the design of the OBX "Straight Through". He suggested getting a more standard type of muffler like:
But he didn't have one in stock plus I could have gotten one just like for half the price.
Not wanting to risk getting a ticket or worst, loose my hearing. I asked about putting on a cheap muffler until I found one liked. Just my luck he said he had a slight used Turbo II "The Bomb" muffler that was on car 1 month before it got wrecked. The cost $50 installed including a 3" tip. :D
He stated that this muffler was a great muffler that would provide good back pressure, increase HP, and would reduce the noise to near stock.
(Not sure if he was BS Me)
Once on the noise level was quit, almost near stock. I did feel a little more kick in HP compaired to stock. "According to the BUTT dyno"
I am considering leaving the Turbo muffler on. It may not be as nice as I would like it to be. But it sounds nice, its quit and appears to be adding HP.
Has anyone ever heard of this Muffler?
Thanks
