Anyone happen to know the size of the stock tweeters in the doors? It's the 360-watt Infinity components. Also, i've heard that the doors will fit up to an 8" mid. Anyone, anyone...

Well, i've been using CDT HD-62 components until recently. :banghead: (see sig) Their image enhancement kit can come with .75" but i've already got 1 set of 1" tweets and would like the 2nd set to be the same size. Besides, the .75" are not as good as the 1" :thumbsdow . I want to use the existing housings for them too but I might be stuck there. As for the mids, the 62's are built on an oversized 6.5" basket. I literally had to cut out part of the doors of my old Probe so they'd fit. Plus, i'm not exactly sure if I want to use their HD mids, ES mids, or go with home audio. (hence the possiblility of needing to fit 8"s). And trust me, as far as car audio sql goes, you just can't beat CDT.

Are they really JBL? How come they say Infinity on them, just because of the sub or deck? Even Hyundai's website says Infinity. I don't really care for either, especially since I blew through my kappa perfect 12".

Wow, I didn't know that at all. Thanks for filling me in. Fact is that Perfect sub I blew was the only Infinity or JBL piece I ever used. I guess i'm just picky about the sql. I think I might go with Seas Lotus Reference set. I hear amazing things about them. And they are on a 7"ish basket. Oooh that'd be SWEET!!! :bananasmi Thanks Nisco!

Now if I can figure out how to fit a 1" tweeter in a .75" hole... :thinkerg:

... i would go to an audio place that does custom fiberglassing.. and show them the tweeter areas.. and tell them what you want done...
it should fir if they do it right...
you know what im saying.. kinda like a total replacemnt of teh stock tweeters.. or.. if you want to move them... becuase they dont fit or would sound better...
put em either in the corners of teh front windshield... upper right and upper left pointing towards teh seats.. or jus behind the divers seat and passengers seat and face em towards teh seats.. front seats

Well, with image enhancement, the first set of tweeters will hopefully replace the stock ones. (I'll save custom fiberglass for a last resort.) And the second set is supposed to be mounted to fire directly across the windshield at each other. If you ever heard a car with this done right, you would be amazed. The trick is finding a nice balance between max SQL and SPL.
