Installing map lights in '02 VP

I have a 2002 Accord VP (Honda says that stands for Value Package...I say it means "velocity procrastinating") and have found that I am in dire need of a map light (not to mention the absent cruise control and power locks, but that will be a bigger project). I believe the LX and EX versions of the Accord came with an overhead sunglass storage bin/map light combination, and was wondering if anybody has attempted to install one of these in a DX or VP. I found a Honda parts website that sells the stock units for little dough (less than $50). I do realize that the headliner will have to have a hole cut in it, but am not sure how the stock units are wired--do they have dedicated wiring to the maplights, or do they run off the dome light wiring? If an LX or EX owner would be willing to take a peek and let me know, that would be super, or if anyone has an easier option for adding overhead maplights that'd be cool too.
