I think you're Filipino. :grinno: Okay, basically the PH16 is a detuned D16 engine. So any mods for the PH16 will apply for the D16. He can really make the PH16 into a 14-15 sec. one without having to undergo an engine swap. All he needs to do is find the right mods, and tune it. As Bisi said, tuning is everything. Anyway, why wouldn't he go for a B16 instead? Banawe have lots of those engines there, ranging from around P30,000 all the way to P100,000 or so ($545 to $1818 for you Americans).

ow.... what part does he need to change... on his ph16?? um.. will any part of a d16y engine?? fit the ph16?? ano what size of pistons doe she need??? he is plannig to get 9:1 c/r pistons... and some new con rods.... and cam gears.... what elso would apply for the ph16?? are they basically the same?? same specs as all d16 engines?? like the d16y8, d16z6. and the d16a??

and ow.. he has only a small amount of bling on him so... he can't buy a surplus b16a.. over the budget... thanks though

I am not yet too sure with the pistons, since I have not gone that far yet. Cam--I have a Skunkwork cam, and an AEM cam gear. If he's not ready for a B16, he surely isn't ready for a modified PH16. Basically the cost he'll be running to modify any D series engine is almost worth that of a stock B16. The only good thing about modifying the PH16 is that he can buy the parts one at a time and have them installed--that way he can see the gains he's getting gradually. More info, go to these boards: http://www.d-series.org/index.php Primarily for the D series engine. For something much closer, try out the Honda Club Philippines (HCP) board: http://hondaclubphil.proboards24.com/index.cgi. A lot of us there can help you out.

Well, more or less I might help. You can also go to the HCP board to talk to the members there, since you also own a Honda anyway, and HCP is specifically targeted to Filipino Honda owners. If he really wants to have a PH16 that runs fast, he should be prepared to dish out the same amount he would give out on a B16 swap. Of course, the only good thing about this is that there aren't that many who would take the time to modify a PH16--or a D16 for that matter--so he can practically take on an SiR here and smile at the guy once the SiR realizes he's been had by a PH16.

Ah, so you're in Cebu. I'm here in Metro Manila. Anyway, you might get lucky and find a wrecked SiR around, or find an owner who might be selling his SiR. If you do find a wrecked one, pray that no one yet took the engine off. The owner might sell the engine for cheap if he's not aware of the value of his engine.
