Cruise control not working

my cruise control does not work. it doesnt even remotly work. ive looked for bad fuse but that road was a dead end. anybody know what the problem could be. i thought maybe the wires might be severed but havent yet checked that route. thanks. guy with tired foot

The most likely culprit on our trucks is usually the vaccum servo...Grab one from a wrecking yard... (or new) and replace it... It's located next to the ABS unit... You will see the cruise cable leading into it from the throttle on the intake...

what does it look like ... is it on thefirewall or fender mount...how much for the part?
Can this be tested...?

the vaccum servo is the unit next to your ABS unit that is electronicly controlled vaccum actuator... It looks like a round bellows about 3-1/2-4 inches in diameter on a mounting bracket... Just follow the cables from your throttle linkage... one cable will go into the firewall (to your gas pedal) and the other will go to the servo in the engine compartment...
