Hi, Im new to the group and really love my 99 740. I would like to know
if anyone has experience with this year car and if they can tell me about maintenance issues after 100k. My car has always been maintained
impecably. I had my car certified by bmw so it has been under warrenty
until now but in another 2500 miles that is history. Do I need to worry
if runs and feels like the day I bought it!! Please help.
Thank you.

Your owner's manual is a pretty good source of the preventive maintenance items that need to be done, but here's a few things to consider:
- change the transmission fluid if it hasn't already been done.
- BMW recommends changing the brake fluid regularly.
- all belts and hoses should be inspected and replaced as needed.
- change the spark plugs.
- drain and refill final drive (rear-end)
- inspect the suspension for worn bushings and bearings.
- drain, flush, and refill power steering fluid (note: if your car has self-leveling suspension you may need a special fluid for this).
A few that you've probably done regularly already:
- drain, flush, refill coolant.
- inspect brakes for wear.
- oxygen sensors should be replaced every 60,000 miles.
- replace fuel filter(s).
- check A/C refridgerant charge.
Gee, it sure is easy spending your money. :-)

Power steering hoses need a thourough check. The radiator and expansion tank if they haven't been replaced already.
