bottom line, i love the new eclipse concept-e. it looks sooo awesome. and it has 270 bhp and has a 50/50 weight distribution. i have no respect for mitsubishi right now (except for the evo), but if they make this car, i would gain more respect for mitsubishi. but too bad the big wheels, side exhaust, how the trunk and hood open wont make it into production probably. oh well, it will still be an awesome car.

it is 2000 on each end, but that is still kind of heavy for such a little car like the eclipse. but thats what happens when you have awd.

Err the reason it'll weigh as much as that is cause it has 2 different powertrains not casue of AWD.

yes, in front the eclipse has a 3.6L engine and a electric motor that makes 270hp. then behind the cabin, the eclipse has a second electric motor that produces 201hp. so that is 471hp total. the gas engine drives the front wheels and the electric motor powers the rear wheels. so it really isnt an awd system, like molina said, it is two seperate powertrains.

I wonder what happened to light and sleek. I really dont like the new eclipse. They shold make it an Evo coupe. 300HP 4wd and independent styling.

I think the one thing people dont realize when they see those "ultra cool concepts" is that the concept is the best of thier designs. However they never make it into production like that due to the fact that it would cost an arm and a leg. Expect to lose alot off of that car before production, including alot of that car's curves.
