heater problems

i have a 1997 ford taurus. all of a sudden the heater control switch makes a clicking noise when it is all the way to the left or blue area, or all the way to the right or red area, for hot or cold. upon further inspection, i noticed that this noise is coming from underneath the ash tray on the right side.

i have no heat, it is only lukewarm.

Do you have the electronic heating system? If so then it's probally your blend door acuator. A real pain to fix, the whole dash has to come out.
