sohc replacements for the 92si motor

obviously the 92-95 sohc vtec motors, from si or ex, will work. but wha about the newer model sohc vtec mototors 96+, will they work with the original tranny. will the wirining and computer work with the newer stuff?

or is it possible to mix and match things?

no the wireing will be different you will have to replace your computer with an ODB 2 computer instead of your ODB 1 computer .. Your tranny should match up perfectly and the motor should drop right into your car but you should stick with the 92 to 95 year motor because they are faster and i think they are better for tuning

I believe that the D16Y8 has a better flowing IM than the D16Z6. You can use your original ECU, you just have to get a OBD2 -> OBD1 conversion harness. Tranny will also work with it.
