I have a 98 Jetta with a problem. I had it at the carwash and it died while there and would not restart. I took it to a shop and when they looked at it it started like there was no problem. Then two weeks later while driving home in a snow storm I lost all power. I tried to restart it and it turned over but would not start. Again I towed it to the shop and the next day they went out and it started like it had no problems again. Is there anyone with these problems?

Ok well both of your prlblems involve water. Im guessing you have an electrical problem. Water is getting in somewhere and then causeing the car to not start. Then it all drys out and you can start.
Look in your distributor cap and see if it is damp. Check you fuse box. Look at anything that is electrical, and check for dampness.
Good luck

Try spraying the ignition coil with water & see if it starts sputtering & dies. It's a very common problem
