I was wondering about how much a tonneau would improve gas mileage. I have 99 Z71 with 5.3 and I average about 15.5 mpg. because of my lead foot. Thanks Trey :bricks1:

I was getting my nerf bars put on other day, they do covers too, they say about a 15% difference.

I had a hard cover installed about 3 years ago. Didn't make one d*mn bit of difference. Just my experience, your mileage may vary. I just like the lid for storage purposes.

It will probably help you if you do a lot of highway driving, but its mostly for looks and to protect what you put in the bed.

I wish there was a way to have a cover and have a toolbox too. I'd have to buy a new toolbox that went inside the bed-rails..those things aint cheap.

Well, I'll take the benefits of covering all stuff and if i get better mileage it will be a bonus..
