You can rebuild one cheaper then that.
I just paid $2100 for a total rebuild and that included a high stall torque convertor, hardened input shaft, new differential, new pump shaft, new valve body, new chain, and ofcourse the basic things like clutches/bands/ seals etc etc.

alright not as bad as i was thinking it would be...i have one more questions though...i heard that the 97 was the only year to have the 4T60E tranny and that 98-03 have the 4T65E tranny. Is this transmission a better transmission and if so could i replace mine with the 4T65E?

I think that the 4t65e is the stronger trans.
Im sure that you could use one instead of the 60, im not sure as to what would have to be changed.
Might try www.clubgp.com for the answers
Also, get the 4t65e-HD not the 4t65e
