new springs?

i have bad quality coilovers on my car which have caused my struts to blow out. i want to re-do my susp. setup, but if i get new struts and a camber kit, will my coilovers be okay in that setup? i'm under the impression the coilovers are so bad because the stock struts weren't designed for them.

First off, factory shocks aren't designed for any type of performance springs or lowering springs to begin with. So the springs you have may not be bad at all.

What coilover sleeves do you have on your car?

i'm not even sure what kind - just kind of assumed they were cheap since a lot of the stuff on my car turned out to be just that. i always wanted a fast honda, but didn't know much about tuning and bought a honda w/ parts on it, and am now learning a LOT, and replacing a lot of things. I think i'm just gonna replace the shocks, they're more important for ride quality than springs right? still trying to decide on whether or not to get a camber kit. what are good shock brands? are kyb good? trying to keep $ low, car + apt. w/o parents takes all ur $

KYB does NOT recommend them to be used any type of coilover sleeve spring.

There's really only one way to put this. You get what you pay for. You buy something cheap, don't expect much out of it. With suspension, it's one area you can't get cheap on. KYB AGX are good, but they will void the warranty if you lower on them ANY amount. The onl;y real good shocks to get are Koni Yellows. Be warned though, they can cost up to $150 PER shock unit. Good springs are Eibach, Neuspeed and Tein S.Tech or High Tech models. Tokico Illuminas are alright shocks too, but I'd go Koni before anything else. The best stand-alone shock under $150 out there... period!

They woulkd, but again they are NOT warrantied if they blow out on you and they discover they were lowered on. Koni warranties for up to a "1.5 drop.

AGX Warranty:
The AGX warranty will be void if: (my words or NOT recommended!!!)
1. The vehicle is lowered more than 1.5" from stock height or "slammed"
2. Lowering is done by using extremely short springs or cutting springs as such modifications can cause bottoming of the shock absorber or bump stock
3. The shocks or struts are modified(e.g. aftermarket adjustable spring seats and collars) (my words AKA coilover sleeves)

We can recognize shocks damaged by excessive lowering by inspecting the piston rod. The warranty for shocks by too much lowering will not be honored.

Recommended Guidelines:
1. Do not lower the vehicle too much. Most cars can safely be lowered "to 1.5". Vehicles lowered too far experience a harsh ride, damage the suspension including the shocks, and create alignment problems.
2. Do not lower a vehicle which will be driven on rough roads.
3 You may shorten your bump stops between 1/3 and 1/2 of the orginal length, but do not remove them all together. As a rule, do not shorten more then 1/2.
4. Cutting springs or the use of short springs can affect the travel of the shock. The use of spindles or modified A-frames, however, does not affect travel.

Special Notice If Lowering The Vehicle
This notice is for customers who intend to lower their vehicle or are installing AGX shocks on a lowered vehicle. AGX shock absorbers are designed for vehicles of stock height. One may lower a vehicle a small amount without greatly affecting the performance, but the amount varies from stock & how the lowering is done may adversely affect the performance and life of the shock absorber.
