HELP! Locked Out '93 740i w/ Dead Battery

This may sound dumb, but I think somebody knows what I'm talking about.

I have a 1993 740i. The battery is dead and I am locked out.

I had DOUBLE LOCKED the car before I left on a trip, and putting the key in doesn't work. Although, I can get into the trunk.

My owners manual is in the car, so I haven't got a clue.

Please help. :banghead:

I was locked out a few days ago. Using the key in the door WILL work. Go to this link: http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e32/forum.php?postid=1934163&page=1 for a good description.

Take A Blunt Object Like A Rubber Mallet And go under the driver seat under the car and hit it a couple times there is a crash sensor under the driver seat with its own power backup and it will unlock the door

Heres a few ways I've heard

1 Put the key in the passenger door, Hold up on the handle all the way then try and turn the key

2 Pop the front grill out by the headlight and manually pop the hood and then give it power to the jump terminals

3 Someone said once to pull the moonroof out if you really want to get in, but that can be an expensive fix.

Also, you said you have the trunk open, so just pay some kid to crawl through the hole. If you have the ski package. Then pop the hood.

sorry i didn't see this when it first happened, but i had the same problem. i do have a 7 year old stepdaughter and got her to climb through the ski hole in the back seat and unlock the door. i had already punched out the oblong hole for something else - it has a few spot welds that you have to break, and then it can be pried out. i never tried any of the other solutions offered here, but when i went to the local bmw guy, he was amazed at my simple solution, he says that they usually tow the car, put it up on a lift to get to the battery terminal and jump it.

I know someone who sent power through the rear light assembly of the car to get in
