ok my friend has a '93 prelude with a H22 swap and a fmax turbo kit. well he had this setup for awhile and although he likes the speed hes getting, he wants that extra go, some nitrous. well i told him in order to run the turbo and nitrous he would have to get stronger internals. i just want to make sure im right, and if so what all would he have to strengthen in order to run the turbo/nitrous setup? and also what would be a safe shot to run? 35 or 55? thanks....

Well not sure what but i think Cams would be a big help. maybe even cam gears. And of course with new cams you would need new valve springs maybe even retainers.

What boost is he running at. With that many major modifications, I recommend going to a dyno and sorting through AFR and boost. You'll also be able to figure out how much nitrous to use. I would stay away from anything over a 50 shot. Nitrous is safe as long as it's used in small doses, and not sprayed at every stoplight (if you've got that many tanks...)

7 to 8 pounds of boost is the MAX boost you should run on a non-built motor. even on a built motor you should be cautious goin higher. you have to remember, these engines were built as all-motor high revving engines, not for forced induction. adding nitrous to an already high compression motor with forced induction on stock internals will spell disaster. unless he's thinkin about building his motor, i'd suggest he forget about adding nitrous.

yeah thats what i was askin...HOW can he build up his motor..like what he needs..i found out he uses 8 pounds of boost all the time...daily driving and at the track...and del...how much higher do you think he could go on a built motor? cause i dont want to tell him the wrong info..does anyone even think nitrous is a good idea for this motor..after he builds it up? thanks everyone for the help any more suggestions?

how long has he had this turbo on. truthfully im surprised he hasnt blown it yet. 8lbs is a lot for a h22 because of the high compression. he defiently will need some low compression pistons and maybe some new stronger piston rods.

hes had his turbo on for almost 3 1/2 maybe 4 months now.....so you suggest low compression pistons? thanks.....any more?

well jus anythign that can strengthen the engine and for a higher psi he would need bigger fuel injectsor new fuel pump and a boost contorller and osme more fuel junk . . . just make sure he tunes it correctly cant member who said it but i think it was del " an engine can blow up at 2 psi, if its not properly tuned"
