Have had a problem twice with my s10 fuel pump. Two time now it hasn't activated, but after pulling it home, hitting the key switch, it activated and started. This happened again this morning, got in it, turned to on, didn't here the pump kick in and sure enough no fuel, result, no start. Is this common. It seems like it will fix itself. What's going on here?

I'd check the electrical connection there at the top the gas tank first. Unplug it and see if there is some dirt or something inside the molded plug itself. Then I'd follow the 2 wires back to the relay and make sure 1 or both wires wasn't pinched or had rubbed against something and worn thru the insulation. If memory serves the Tan/White is the power lead from the relay under the dash. If the wiring looks ok after that, I'd pull and test the relay. But like I said, I'd check the wiring first cuz it sounds to me like a loose ground or something.Hope this helps some.....

Thanks, Gypsy, i was hoping that was going to be a suggestion, I can hear the relay click, upon turning on the key but pump doesn't run. I'll tell you on thing if i have to replace another pump , i'm cutting a hole in my pickup bed and doing it from the top. thanks again, hound.
