About to get a VR4

Except over here we call 'em GTOs.

I'm going to troll this part of the board for neat info, but is there anything anyone knows that isn't up here about them?

Specifically, what HP do the stock twin turbo 3 litre VR4s put out, and how do they compare to other cars? They're supposed to be 238kw at the wheels, right? So how do they compare to a skyline GTR?

Is it easy to fit a strut brace?

Whats the FIRST mod everyone does to their 3000GTs?

Stock for stock a GTR is a bit quicker.

First mods to a VR4 is an open air filter and boost controller. A quick way to get 30HP. If you want the real technical experts - got to www.3si.org

Well it Depends An A-spec VR-4 Stock would beat a Stock Skyline GTR cause there are no american versions of the GTR and most japanese supercars are limited to 260 - 280 Hp for there own reasons and a A-Spec VR4 has 330Hp and weighs around 3,700 Lbs. while the weaker GTR weighs in at around 4,400 plus has less Hp. and you might say "the skyline has AWD and will be at least as quick on the the launch" but so does the VR-4 . so the last trick up the GTR's sleeve was rendered useless by the VR4:p

They're limited to that HP at factory, but I'm assuming an A-spec VR4 means one with all the work done on it, and all the mods? By no means are worked GTRs limited to low HP. One of my colleagues has a 400hp GTS25T.

Perhaps the next question is, if you lighten a stock VR4 significantly will it win against a stock GTR? :)
