I just swapped in a obd 1 jdm h22a into my 95 prelude which had a h23 in it. Along the way i encountered a problem that i could not find an answer for in any of the online forums. The h23 distributor has an external coil yet the jdm h22a distrib has an internal coil. The problem was how to wire in the new internal coil distrib. Using the h23 harness take the plug that goes to the coil and cut the black/yellow wire and splice it into the fat yellow wire going to the distrib. This will give your coil its power supply fused and everything! Looking at wiring diagram may help.
So basically the black/yellow and yellow wires of the external coil plug on the h23 harness are splice together and will provide power for the internal coil of the jdm distrib.
good luck
