find your self a good runinng 84 chevy caprice or impala with a 350 or 305 and transfer all of the parts including the wireing and smog and there you go no more crappy HT4.1 badge of death cadillac.
hope that helps :sunglasse

The 86 to 90(?) de villes came with Chevy 305's, and in '87 they used a 4 bbl Q-jet carb, not EFI.
Use one of those for engine mounts. I do not think the 305 or 350 will bolt up to the trans. However, a Buick-Olds -Pontiac V8 shares the same transmission bell housing as the Cadillac engine.
Personally, I swapped in an Olds 455 into my Fleetwood (with headers!!) It bolted up to the stock transmission as it it had been designed to fit.
