ok guys I need to know what to do to my car next, I definately want to do something to the engine, so far I only have i/h/e, short shifter. I plan on putting a jackson racing supercharger in about 4-5 months, so do u suggest anything for me to do, should i begin to buy parts to make my engine be stronger for the charger? vtec controller? cam gears? etc.?? thanks guys!!

oh yea check out what i have done so far at the bottom, on my sig. thanks!

MSD Ignition, Better Cams, Pully Set, Headwork, VTEC Controller, etc.

If you're getting the JRSC, a liquid intercooler would be high on my list.

for the price of the JRSC, you'll get more power from a turbo kit.

Just start saving up and get a TURBOCHARGER and build up the motor for it to handle the boost.

It wouldn't be very ideal for autocrossing, and ATTS will disable at roughly 250whp. If the transition when it engages was smoother, then it's workable...last thing I want is the turbo to kick in on a tight turn. That's why I'm leaning towards the JRSC.

a properly matched turbo for your application with a properly designed wastegate and boost control system will give you very good lowend response and prevent sudden power increase.

i autocross frequently, and am working on a T3 based sytem with a .48 A/R trim. internal wastegate set at 5psi with boost control system to increase boost from the cockpit for "on the fly" tuning for autocross track diversity.

with a turbo that small and enough boost to push 230-250whp, and the ability for boost to build at 1000rpm, and full boost attained before 2500rpm, i dont think it will interfere with my powerband during cornering. it will take some getting used to, but the LSD will also assist my cornering abilities. but once the wheel snaps back to center, i will be able to have enough power to quickly engage the next turn.

if you'd like, i can keep you updated on my test and tune on this. since i installed an LSD, i got pushed up to Street Mod, and with the SM class here, i need more power... i can negotiate turns as well or better than the other guys, but i have a lot less HP to put me through the straights. plus with the speeds attained at regional and national level events, the power is going to come in handy, along with my DOT legal race tyres ;)

I'd be interested in how it goes. If it works for you, then I would seriously reconsider going for a turbo setup.

Ok, here is what I have gathered from your suggestions and from other sites as well........

MSD ignition
cams
pulleys
headwork
Vtec controller
intercooler
cam gears
clutch

I am looking to start to buy these things ASAP, what do you suggest I get first, and so on, what order would you get these if you were in my postition. and do you suggest anything else? thanks! You all are so helpful!

that's not an intercooler... it's a misnomer. you cannot intercool a roots type blower since there's no room to cool the charge prior to it entering the intake runners.

that's a water injection system, which adds density to the air charge by humidifying it.

intercooler=turbo
aftercooler=centrifugal supercharger
squirt gun=roots blower

:D

racing down here in red river, cenla, delta, and sowela louisiana, there's a lot of turbocharged vehicles... not including those we get from the dallas and houston arenas.

the only blower vehicles i have seen are stock class, like Saleens and older Toyota MR2's.

maybe becuase the weather here is a factor (hot hot hot), and roots type blowers have poor thermal efficiency, or maybe they're on to something. never raced a supercharged car, but with a few years of experience tuning turbo cars and knowing what i can and cant do with it, i hope i get my desired effect :D

We get the nice, humid weather out in STL, but unlike your region, surprisingly there's not a whole lot of forced-induction cars. SM is a pretty small class, while STS is a huge class. Cars that have suspension mods are aplenty...and Subies are all over the place. Out of 160+ drivers, there are only 3 Prelude drivers....two SH owners, and one 4th gen Si.
