Mine is - '03 Double Cab. It's under warranty (only 12K miles on it); just wondering if anyone else has (or had) this problem?

After two trips to dealership, and them installing dye in the power steering reservoir, finally convinced them it was leaking. They removed the pump and rebuilt it using new seals; that seems to have fixed it. Check all around your power steering pump for signs of leakage; get it back to the dealer to get it fixed before warranty runs out.

The power steering pumps on V6 engines have been prone to leakage from the front seal of the pump, the fluid will get on the pulley and spray everywhere, which makes it hard to pinpoint a leak. The dealership should have just replaced the whole pump, but the new pumps I've put on seem to last much longer than the original pump.

I have a 2003 toyota tacoma dual cab 4x4 .I just read the article by Groupset about power steering on 2003 tacomas.I just got back from Daytona Beach Fla. biketoberfest. I pulled my harley wideglide for a few days of fun.when i got back home i noticed my power steering pump was roaring. I checked the fluid and had to add about 8oz. of fluid.I am going to take it back to toyota to see if i have a leak.the truck only has 20000 miles on it.thanks for the info.

Rays Tacomas:
I am in need of my second power steering pump replacement in 70K miles. However, my warranty on the first replacement is out and I am talking with Toyota.
How are you aware of this being a popular problem? I ask because this data may help my case.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. And for what it is worth, I have not wrecked or ever been off roading.
Thanks in Advance
