Radio Not Turning Off

Hi All,
I'm a new proud owner of an Alfa 156 2.5 V6 in Alfa Red with the sports pack 3 on it and high level rear spoiler! :iceslolan
My only questions are:
1.) Is there any way of getting the radio to turn off when the ignition is moved to "STOP"? Currently, it switches off after 20 minutes or so which I assume is normal but is a little annoying.
2.) If I change the stereo to a Blaupunkt one which was on my previous car, will it still take 20mins to turn off when I turn off the engine?
Cheers
Paul

Thats not a very informative answer! and not much help!
You CAN actually get the radio to turn off. your radio should have its own wiring harness that creates its ISO block, withing that there will be a red wire and a yellow wire which both contain bullet links(connections), break these and reverse them, so the yellow goes to the red and the red to the yellow. This may correct the on/off issue.
If that doesnt work then your model ALFA has a 20 minute timed delay on the ignition circuit, what this means is as soon as you switch the ignition on, you have to wait 20 minutes for it to switch back off again so the trick to checking the config on the alfa is DO NOT PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION! pop the radio unit out and check if you have only one constant 12 volt live or two.
If only one is live then with a multimeter, check the corresponding wires to make sure they are all 0 volts, THEN TURN ON THE IGNITION, and see which one comes live, you will now have identified the switched live.
You may need to find an accessory switched live what tirns on and off with the ignition but stays live whilts cranking the car over
Typical places to find these feeds are from the fusebox, cig lighter or glovebox light feeds.
I can take all the credit for this info, thanks to DEE KEENAN and TERRY WRIGHT on the WWW.SIOCOMMUNICATIONS.CO.UK (http://WWW.SIOCOMMUNICATIONS.CO.UK) forum
