I just bought my 89 blazer, and it does the same thing. I would love to know what causes this also. I too have checked the fluids and the ebrake, and everything looks ok to me.

on the earlier trucks (90-87) with abs, the brake light will flash because of either an ABS failure or one of your brake light bulbs is out...

Its non-ABS and the brake lights are all fine. Any other thoughts?

Hmm. How about the e-brake switch?

THats a thought. I might try dosconnecting the wire from the e brake, however, I have tried holding the pedal up with no luck.

You may have to use a completely different switc, I can't remember if that switch is ground positive or not...

I think that sometimes the computer gets a bad code due to low fluid level, loose connection, etc.

If there is no problem with the lights, ABS, or fluid level, disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and let the computer lose it's memory and then reconnect the battery. Check the light.

If it was a faulty code the light will not come on again. If it was a true code, write down the number of long and short flashes and then consult a Chevy mechanic. The number of flashes will represent the code that is
causing the light to come on.

Remember brakes are important!!! lol :iceslolan
