car won't start

My 1995 pontiac sunfire wont start, its getting fuel, spart, and everything except it getting so much fuel the spark plugs get wet with gas. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

First,what engine? 2nd-how/where are you checking for spark? 3rd-does the engine sound normal when turning over,or does it sound differently than it used to? 4th-is or has your check engine lite been on? 5th-is this a new/sudden problem or has it been getting worse over time? Sorry for the questions, but details help.

sounds like your fuel pressure regulator might/could be bad,(its right beside intake on 2.2 engines DRVR SIDE,has rubber high pressure line going to bottom of it) you should first check to see if your fuel pressure is not over reccomended pressure by manufacturer with a fuel pressure tester, then i would say check timing to be sure its on cue, try to see if the spark on each wire/plug is sparking when piston is coming up to TDC on each corrosponding cylinder, this will help you determine where to go from there.

also before you do this make sure you keep all spark away from cylinders as this as im sure you know could result in a massive fire, you stated that your plugs were wet so im assuming that you are getting plenty of fuel which could shoot out of the cylinders when turning engine over. my suggestion would be to just pull one plug to do this and dont stick anything in cylinder to check piston location, use your finger to plug hole or a compression tester to determine when piston is at TDC, I use an old plug for the test fire just be sure to keep it up over the valve cover when checking spark timing.. couldnt tell you how many times i have seen or done a stupid thing like this in desperation or just from being in a hurry...
