vr4 the ultimate street car? PLEASE READ!

in an article i read today there was a vr4 a 91 like mine, and it had upgraded turbo's......... hold on let me get exactly what he had

gt pro intake
6mm throttle body
pit road m drag titanium exhaust
gt pro gt368-sx turbo's
gt pro mount intercooler
720cc injectors
duel fuel pumps
arc2-gp fuel computer
sx fuel filter
fuel pressure regulater

so anyway the guy at the end of the article says
quote: "i can say this much about the car, even though its heavy, with its tourque range and awd, a properly tuned 3000gt is unbeatable on the street, its the ultimate srteet car, and i know because i also own a supra and a skyline."

do you know how bad i wanna post this on the other forums, but i'll probably be attaked by supra and skyline fans. also today this guy is a so called street racer and he owns a rsx when my friend says he has a 3000gt vr4, the guy shakes his hand a little and just pushes it off like its not a big deal :screwy: does he not know that i will blow his doors off.
its just that the 3000gt is so under estimated by many.

one other thing it also states that, to 3000gt owners its a mystery the car never enjoyed quasi-legendary status.

No, not unbeatable. But underestimated, yes. The VR4 deserves to be up there with the great supercars of the 90's: Supra, 300Z, Rx-7. A VR4 will blow the RSX out of the water, if both cars are stock and both racers are equally skilled.

I disagree with that article, the Nissan Skyline is the same platform (TT AWD) as the VR4 with much less weight. And more aftermarket parts to boot. The Skyline should come out top.

i agree, but when he says unbeatable its like the awd take off in the vr4 is monsterous so if souped up and properly tuned, it is almost unbeatable ON THE STREETS. for one it would be an 11 sec car imagine driving a pagani zonda on the street but more then that is the awd take off from one light to the other there's no beating it as its an 11. sec car, exept for a skyline. and then even though the hp of a skyline can get rediculous, like he said if tuned properly the tourque of the vr4 is what makes it like a god on the street.

i sort of like it that its underestimated...it just makes it that much more fun to walk away from little pricks like the kid with the rsx :evillol:

Since no car is 'unbeatable' any claim to that is just blowing hot air. Aside from that, from streetlight to streetlight the VR4 can hand 99% of the cars out there ass. The Supra has its strength after its reached sixty or so. The Skyline is strong, but will not keep up with the VR4 (out of the box - I hate the mod this mod that arguement).

Sure tuned up any car can be faster then another, but for all the people I know with VR4s only a few really put anything into it beyond the basics.

Well, out of the box the skyline is 280hp with 3300lbs to carry against the 320hp, 3760 lbs the VR4 has. At launch, I would say the Skyline has the advantage, but at about quarter mile they will break even.

doh, beat me to it, is this alan that is one of the admin's on 3si?

also the skyline is not AWD like the 3kgt is, it is more like traction control so this might give a 3/S the launch advantage but the skyline the advantage up top. also i would say that a 911 or a lambo is the ultimate street car (is the zonda AWD as well?)

anyway, the 3kgt kicks ass and is way underestimated, that is a fact!

Actually, the Skyline does come in an AWD model.

There are 'supercars' like the F1 and Murcielago. These are "ultimate" for a short while until another company produces a faster car. Streeting is mostly drag, so an old muscle car could claim the title as well.

I don't think it's necessary to proclaim to be the ultimate street car, because there's always something out there faster than it. And if there isn't yet, wait awhile and it'll be there.
