There are a few die hards out there. I saw a really nice '57 Chevy (chrome wheels, duals etc) driving around Bathurst and Eglinton last week just getting COVERED in salt.
Makes you wonder why?
Daily driver broke down I guess.

It's a snowy winter where I live too, (Alberta, Canada) and the best car I've seen all winter was one of the best I've ever seen on the road. A yellow Ferrari F355 Spider. No picture though. I can't believe he was driving it in January.

As I recall, Alberta does not use salt. Yes?
I swear, the snow is okay, even when the roads are salty and dry, its all right. But here, every third day, theres a couple of inches of snow to make everything wet and salty again. Its like my car is dissolving in front of my eyes.

Nope, they use salt. Maybe they never use to, I'm not sure because I'm only 15. But, as long as I can remember the roads have been a sloppy mess. It sucks.

I think they used a lot less of it, even as recently as the '80's. A friend of mine lived out there for a while and there was a large selection of relatively rust free older cars. I did have a 1981 Ford Escort from Calgary. Astonishingly rust free.
