1984 maxima?

Hey everyone I have a 1984 maxima that was running fine until the positive wire shorted to ground. It still has fire but the fuel pump is not working. I hooked power straight to the pump and it still works. Is there a sensor or inline fuse somewhere that could keep the pump from working? Any help would be great. Thanks

check all the fuses in the underhood fuse boxes. there is a fuel pump relay somewhere in there. can't remember where. I used to have an 84, loved it so much I bought a 91 :)
