You can lower the car for under $500 (you install)
www.shox.com
KBY struts 195.00 for all four
Eiback Gen 2 springs 229.00
If you want to go adjustable and $$$$ go w/ HELD
They are the first to make a Coilover kit for the GP's. A clubgp member down here is Texas has been the test mule for HELD. He has finally recieved a set that works great and will be the final product
http://www.heldmotorsports.com/mcfrontcoilovers.html $496 w/ struts included (front) $686 struts included (rear)

my brother did it to his 97 gt and he heated the springs, he lowered it alright, a little to much, the thing bounced on every little crack. seriously. bumpy ass ride you will start to feel sick on a hundred mile trip.
