Tranny help quick!!!!!

hay quick question,
just noticed it today,
here is the deal,
I turn on the car, while in neutral,
If the clutch is in the car is quiet, but if i release the clutch it makes a horrid noize.
its a 97 GS
2L non turbo.
has 137k on it
what the hell could it be?
i know that i need a new clutch soon but what the hell is that sound?
the car drives fine, a little slipage but other than that horrid noize its fine!

Are you running low on clutch fluid?

nah the clutch fluid looks good,
but i'll doubble check.
the clutch engages and disengages well.
it feels fine just a horrid noize!
immagine the worst lifter rattle! thats it
behaves find, sounds bad
makes any sence?

What kind of noise is it?

So far from what you are saying, it sounds like it is the throwout bearing.
It could be dry or worn out. You could try lubericating it, or replacing it.

TOB. IT will need to be replaced, they are sealed bearings. Obviously one should replace the clutch and TOB at the same time, no exceptions. Its a lot of labor, and the labor to do the clutch is 10 minutes more than doing the TOB.

I'm getting the tyranny flushed and filled,
i.e. just getting the gear oil replaced.
lets see if that helps.
hay quick question, I keep hearing a ticking sound coming from the wheel well of the passengers side.
just had the water pump and the timing belt replaced.
think it could be the tensioner?
