New Aquarium

Well, for Christmas, my fiancee got a new Aquarium. Spent close to 1200 dollars on it and well, it's a good investment so far, I think.
To start, it's a corner tank. So it fits flush in the corner with a rounded front end. It holds about 54-56 gallons of water. Gravel is blue, really sharp looking blue at that. I have a castle that looks run down and a tower/castle also in same form. Has some good hiding places since the parrot fish like to hide. Oops, forgot to mention, also have a suba diver in there. Still have to get some plants in there. I bought for a filter, Fluval 404. I believe it is the top of the line one, not sure as I don't know squat about aquariums. Some bubble thingys and background is obviously underwater coral reef, I think. The tank it's self is black with black matching base.
We have a total of 14 fish so far with 10 more in the process of purchase. Not sure if we want to fill it up since some of these fish, like the parrot ones, grow big. It's bad enough that some of them already bully the other fish.
As for the type of fish that I have, if someone can give me a website that has pics and a big list of types of fish I will list them next.

Sounds neat. I wanna get a corner tank for my mom one of these days. Like I said in my note in your other thread...most of my fishes have gone to the big ocean in the sky. We are gonna wait a few weeks before replacing them. I don;t wanna go get new ones now to have them die too.
Alex does all the maintainence and chemical stuff. Our tank does well then every once in awhile either the chemical levels go funky and send them into shock, or we get a batch of bad fish. Kinda like a wrench being thrown into the gears.
EDIT: a few good sources too...

1200 for a fish tank? Holy mackeral! I've seen corner tanks of about fifty gallons for less then that. There must be something about this one to be valued so much higher. Its gotta be a halibut of a tank. But, its her/your money to use in any fishy way you desire. Dont cram the fish in their like sardines either. You dont want them squeezed in there like pickled herring.
Because of the bad puns above, there will be forty lashes dished out to the perpetrator - where is my medication?

These are some of them. I think I may have found the other ones, but I need to convert their formats to post here. I'll do that in a few mins.

That probably includes the cost of everything else aside from the tank, like the gravel, filter, castles and other stuff. The 180 gallon bowfront Alex and I drool over goes for nearly $3000. and that's just the tank by itself
Our 46g has almost $3000 invested in it....this includes every plant and fish that has come and gone, supplies, food etc. Plus we did ours all natural...gravel plants etc. Going all natural is a bit pricier but definitely worth it.

Actually Yogs, the tank itself cost me only 230 bucks. I kinda talked the guy down. In actuality, the tank costs around 500 bucks alone. The 1200 figure I tossed is including all of the accessories needed like filter, stand, cover, and all other things involved to make it a complete aquarium. So I got lucky in two departments. One, the tank itself, I paid less than half it worth and it is brand new. The filter originally cost 200 dollars, but the guy let it go for 110. Everything else I paid pretty much it's worth. :D:D

A good friend of mine back in the States had a 200 gal aquarium. We used to go fishing and bring the days catch back and put it in the tank. At one time we had three large mouth bass, 15 black croppie, and a heap of blue gills though they kept dissappering hahaha

i have 8 boring goldfish (they arent that boring to watch, bu theyre boring compared to your fancy fish!) they are in a trough outside, with two water lilys (sp?) and i have to get some oxygen weed some time soon.
the only exiting one is a white fantail goldfish.
does anyone know any other small, inexpensive, fish like the ones DVS has? that can live outside? i mean like colourful, striped, etc.
