Oil Pressure

I have just bought a 944 2.5lux 1986. Before changing the oil the oil pressure when warm at idle was at 2bar and at 5000rpm 4 bar as recomended by the owners manual. After changing the oil (using Quantum 10/40 semi synthetic oil and new Mann oil filter(the same make as the one taken off)) the oil pressure at idle when warm is 3bar and at 5000 rpm, just above 5 bar. Does anyone know if this oil is too thick for the engine (it is recommended by Porsche) or if there could be another reason for this increase, and if this kind of pressure might split the oil seals.

Cheers

Pressure is good...

The weight of the oil can definitely make a difference depending on what climate you live in...
20w/50 for souther U.S is normal.... but in my neck of the woods 5w-30 will do just fine...

Next time use a Mahle filter.....
