more synthetic oil questions

well i have synthetic oil in there now and it's still burning oil, although technically it's a "synthetic blend" so it's cheeper but i still noticed a nice increase in responsiveness. now i have heard rumors that synthetic can damage my seals (arf arf) but i really need to know, cause it's time to change my oil again and i need to know if i ruined a cheep jdm engine or if i just need to rebuild my engine or buy a junk engine and rebuild it or just get another fucking car... especially since this one is quickly turning into a heap, (body work, engine problems) anyway feedback will be apretiated.

oh and i know i can't spell right now, i'm tired as crap.

Syn will not damage your engine. Anyone that tells you that is FOS. If you are burning oil and putting expensive stuff in, you are just wasting money.

I have 220K miles on my d15b2. I put synthetic in it until it started burning oil last year...I have switched to the synthetic blend since it is only $2/quart and like darolh said, wasting money on watching the high $$ synthetic come out the tail pipe as blue smoke :(, to hold me until I can make time to do the swap. I burn about 2 quarts between filter changes (about 1 quart every 1200 miles)

I think your synthetic blend is a good compromise

Actually, there is some truth to the seals issue with synthetic, but it comes from using synthetic after a motor's lifetime of using mineral oil. The synthetic often seeps past seal damage more readily than mineral. Better to go straight to full synthetic after run-in oil than run-in -> mineral -> synthetic.

Despite that, I pay a fortune on Mobil 1 full synthetic and have always used it in my SiR since I bought it. With regular changes at 6000kms and an oil filter change every 12000kms I currently have 260,000kms on my B16A and it's still in factory condition. No rebuild needed yet, no oil usage and no smoke. The engine regularly goes to 8000rpm and does a lot of interstate driving as well as city driving.

when i ran full synthetics thru my crx it just burnt them up like there was no tomorrow. so i just use a good high milage and it doesn't burn a drop. you gotta pay a lot for the good response from the synthetics because with old valve seals it slips right thru and gets burned up good.

i have a jdm 1.5 carberated engine switched over to dpfi please should i use high mileage engine oil. it's supposed to have only 45,000 miles on it so i thought higher mileage oil was rediculous. should i do that?
